Email archive in the hideout

Hey rats!

It’s been a little quiet here in the hideout last couple weeks.

We just got back from a recording trip where we recorded a whole other album.

We just can’t stop.

My parents were traveling in Europe for a couple of weeks and offered for me to stay at their house and look after it while they were gone.

I think they thought I would come down with my gf and look after the house for a bit and take some time off.

but me being me, i suggested that the band come down and record while they were gone.

They took some convincing.

But ultimately, they accepted.

And I’m so glad that they did because it was a truly magical experience.

You’ll hear more about it as we release the album (we have to release a HTKTW first) but the experience was really special.

I grew up in that house.

I learned how to play music in that house.

We set the drums up in the garage right where they were when I learned to play drums at eight years old.

It was so emotional returning after so many years to play in that room.

I broke down and cried in Cassie’s arms.

I guess lately, Ive been feeling a certain nostalgia.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older or if it’s because the weather is changing into the moody part of the year.

And although Sean and I sorted through our old emails before we left for our trip, it was really cathartic to live some of these past moments again.

In these emails you’ll find our first tour announcement, when lonesome and mad went viral (god we were so naive then), the release of old music videos, and some of Cassie’s old stories and experiences.

It’s a trip to see how far we’ve come.

I added a new block to the archive page if you want to click around there or you can click on the type writer below to relive some UTR history.

HTKTW is coming so soon and I can’t wait to share that with you all.

Tour dates are being confirmed.

And a new album is being worked on.

So much more cool stuff coming.

Thanks for sticking with us all these years through all the growth and mistakes and wins and losses and changes and van breakdowns and laughs and tears and records and good moments.

We couldn’t do this without you.

Love you guys so much.
B
